Frederic Mishkin, who served as a Fed Governor from 2006 to 2008, co-authored a paper on behalf of Iceland’s banks that concludes:

“Financial fragility is currently not a problem, and the likelihood of a financial meltdown is low.”

Comforting to know he was one of the people guiding our monetary policy the last two years. That’s the kind of talent only the Fed can attract.
